URGENT-Does anyone have a diet for quick weight loss?

i have tried alot of diets, not one has worked. i am overweight and quikly becoming very over weight, so i nees a diet that works fast, does anyone have a diet? oh and i dont want any pills

There is no quick fix. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.

Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.

Make a few additional small changes – walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.

Start a weight lifting routine. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall. Even if you can’t get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one.

In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy.

Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate – in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don’t. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies.

Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day.

Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day.

Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body.

How long did it take for you to see weight loss on the atkins diet?

Within a week – lost a total of 30 lbs in a couple of months but I gained it all back again and then some.

This diet is not a good one, it is VERY hard on your kidneys and makes your breath STINK.

Better to change the way you think about food and increase your level of activity. Only then will the weight come off and stay off.

If so, how do you space your meals or schedule your meals. I have breakfast, Mid A.M., Lunch, Mid P.M., Dinner and a snack. I’m having a hard time trying to figure out how to space my meals. Also, I don’t get home until 6pm and they say do not eat after 6. But with my schedule that’s kind of difficult. So any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks…

I’m on herbalife program. So far it’s working very good. When i usually wake up in the morning, i get ready, drink two glasses of watter. Drink my shake (breakfast) just before I’m about to leave. Make sure your keeping your eating time same. You dont want to change your eating time each day as this will do more damage than good.
I usually eat my lunch around 1ish and after an hour later i have an apple. following by a yogurt . Than at 6ish i have my dinner. You could have your dinner whenever you want but make sure you have it 4 hours before you sleep. Normally the earlier, the better.

Hey everyone. I am looking for some quick weight loss methods to drop about 15 pounds in 5 weeks. I have done the healthy lifestyle and am working out, but need more. I have been exercising 4 times a week at a place that is similar to curves called Butterfly Life. I feel great from exercising, but I am not losing any weight. I know muscle weighs more than fat, but I really need to start eating healthier. There are some Quick Weight Loss places around here, but I really don’t have the extra money get into it. I had a baby June 1st, am 5′9" and weigh 240. I’m trying to lose about 60 pounds. Does anyone have any good diet plans or helpful hints?

I am trying to lose two dress sizes by the end of October. I stopped eating all meats, plus bread and pasta. No pop or junk food. I’m having a piece of fruit and glass of milk for breakfast, salad and water for lunch, and vegetable soup or whatever veggies my mom cooks with dinner for dinner. Does that sound like a good plan?
I know I should exercise, and I’m trying to get out and walk more, but I’m horrible at sticking with exercise programs.
Part of the reason I gave up meat is because I recently chose to become a vegetarian, so I won’t be adding meat to my diet.
I’m taking the One a Day Weight Smart vitamins, too.

Less fruit, more protein! Fruit is basically just sugar!

Low Carb?? Veggis and raw foods??? Low fat??? What plan is the best for quick weight loss?

ASHTANGA YOGA 3 times a week.

RUN 3-5 times a week (aim to get to 5k 5x a week).

SEX as often as possible.

Drink lots of water and salad before and after every meal.

Eat at scheduled times and don’t allow yourself to snack on anything other than raw veggies and low GI fruits.

Avoid sugary and fatty foods like the plague. You stop craving them after a while.

If you get hungary often, make your scheduled meals more frequent. Maybe every 3 to 4 hours if need be. Never let yourself get too hungry or overly full and be sure to make every meal a satisfying one.

Reduce portion size and pay attention to your bodys signals. Eat your meals slow and take breaks inbetwen bites. You should not have food in your mouth constantly. Stop eating before you start to feel full, and eat salad until you do.

Focus on becoming more healthy and nurishing your body, instead of just loosing weight.

Don’t eat anything 3 hours before bedtime. Eat your last meal about 5 hours before bedtime, and allow yourself a snack like an apple or yogurt or something a few hours before bed. Don’t go to bed hungry.

Go for your runs in the morning to get your metabolism going, and walk after every meal, even if it’s just for 20 – 30mins.

Make reasonable goals that you can achieve, track your progress, and find ways to stay motivated, if the visible results aren’t already enough.

Become aware of the many ways your healthy weightloss is affecting your life. Do you physically feel better? Are you more confident. Do you have more energy?

Try it with a friend, if you need help staying on track.
